ABOUT US
- This is the official website of Pomeroy Plunketts GAC. The club was formed in 1916, under the patronage of St. Oliver Plunkett and dedicated to the memory of Joseph Mary Plunkett.
- After 30 years of the club, in 1946 the club transferred from East to West Tyrone. Two years later, in 1948 Plunkett Park opened which was the second county ground in Tyrone.
- In 1967 the club enjoyed some success winning the County Intermediate Championship, County Intermediate League and McElduff Cup.
- Then later in 1972 the club opened the pavilion, and then in 1980 Plunketts Football Club and St. Mary’s Handball Club amalgamated to form Pomeroy Plunketts Gaelic Athletic Club.
- A sports centre opened, which included a 40 feet by 20 feet indoor handball alley. in 1981 Pomeroy branched out and formed.
- In 1994 the club bought four and a half acres of land to develop a training pitch.
- Then four years later in 1998 the redeveloped Plunkett Park re-opened to mark its Golden Jubilee. Further three and a half acres of land bought for development.
